Our Story

Mailelani is a LOVE story

Two people from opposite sides of the world, with the same heart for others.

Kitiona, a young , active Samoan village boy with abs to die for and Sylvie, a young and adventurous Swiss/Italian girl who lived the first 3 years of her life in Madras, India now knows as Chennai.

Their story begins where they met, YWAM, Honolulu.

YWAM: Youth With A Mission, is a Missions organisation created to share the gospel all while serving and helping the people of the countries travelled to.This love for people stuck with them long after they had finished their time in YWAM. After marrying, living in Switzerland for 10 years and having their first two daughters, they decided it was time to move to Samoa and start a business that would not only benefit their family but their community as well.

Kiti and Sylvie started their skin care venture without a clue of where or how to start. All they knew was that they were in Samoa for a reason, Samoa had potential and coconut oil was a GOOD THING.

It wasn’t always easy, Kiti didn’t know what he was doing at first but he was determined to do it, and do it well!
After 2 years of experimenting with local ingredients, our first soap was released in the year 2000.It was just one simple, fragrance free soap but this was the beginning of something much bigger than we ever thought possible.

20 years later, here we are with an entire skin care range available world wide.
