OUR VISION &
VALUES

Sharing the essence of Samoa

Mailelani aims to share the unique flavour of Samoa with the outside world through products traditionally crafted, using exotic and natural resources. Our products are made with the utmost respect for nature, we are committed to sustainable development, employment and uncompromising attention to quality, the ultimate goal is to provide export income to Samoa. Our vision is to see the brand expand and thrive overseas, while simultaneously growing the production rate in Samoa, without sacrificing the quality of our product and providing employment for our community and our farmers.

Our team consists of both men and women between the ages of 17 and 30, 80% being women. We strongly believe that Mailelani would not be where it is today without our staff and our local suppliers. They are the biggest part of the company and we are proud to have them be a part of our team. We work with farmers from both Savai'i and Upolu, the two biggest islands of Samoa, and in turn they work and purchase coconuts from at least 30 other families in their village and neighbouring villages. For many years, Mailelani has also worked with Loto Taumafai, a school for people with disabilities and/or special needs. The students craft wooden spoons to be sold together with Mailelani coconut massage oil. Loto Taumafai students have also carved Mailelani Elei boards (traditional printing method) 100% profit goes back to Loto Taumafai school. The beauty of creating a value added/natural body care product is knowing where your ingredients and supplies are sourced from and knowing the impact it will have on your community. Mailelani also believes in working with the men of our community, in Samoa men have the very important role of being the head and leader of their family and community, we believe that a steady job can contribute to a healthy mental health which leads to a happy home.
